This year we will be working toward and achieving the Girl Scout Bronze Award. The Girl Scout Bronze Award, “is the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can earn and requires her to learn the leadership and planning skills necessary to follow through on a project that makes a positive impact on her community. Working towards this award demonstrates her commitment to helping others, improving her community and the world, and becoming the best she can be”. Prior to the meeting, please discuss this with your daughter and have her come prepared with service project ideas that our troop could pursue as part of the Bronze Award Program. We will be discussing and evaluating all of the girls ideas and then making a decision as to which service project our troop will pursue. Choosing our culminating service project will also help us plan for the other Junior Girl Scout requirement badges that we will need to earn along the way. To familiarize you further with the Bronze Award Program, please see the attached link to the Girl Scout USA website: http://www.girlscouts.org/program/gs_central/insignia/highest_awards/bronze_award.asp
